Bass Fishing Lake Okeechobee, referred to as "The Lake", "Florida's Inland Sea", or "The Big O", is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Florida. It is the seventh largest freshwater lake in the United States.  Lake Okeechobee is the largest in-land body of water within the lower 48 states that has 730 square miles. The average depth of Lake Okeechobee is about 9-ft perfect for the Largemouth bass fishing, black crappie, catfish bluegill and redear sunfish. To support the quality of these fishing species there is an excellent program for fish hatcheries within the Lake Okeechobee aquatic community.
